AMAZING! We made it and thanks to everyone for an outstanding week of Animation and Music. I can safely say this has been the best Summer School in the last four years at Orchard School so a massive Congratulations! Loads of new relationships have been forged and so many new skills learned. Please check out the You tube channel and enjoy watching your animations time and time again. The full quality animations will be given out on DVD at the end of the day which is now fast approaching.A big thank you to Andy and Jackie for all their hard work and commitment during the week and again a big thank you to all the young people involved, well done you made it so worthwhile.

Another great day for the animators and musicians. The morning was spent adding music to the animations that everyone has created. This work has been very focused. Everyone has got the skills now and they have explored the whole area of sound to picture successfully enough to enable some amazing work to take place. The results can be found HERE. Many thanks to Jackie for her enthusiasm and professionalism in the animation department, the results are a credit to her hard work and inspiring nature. Thanks To Andy for his commitment to recording and producing the music for us, for encouraging quality control and troubleshooting technical issues successfully. All music has been composed by the young people involved. This blog is going live today and now requires comments from everyone involved so get going, blog away........ Wow! what a day. This has been the best day yet. The highlights were too many to mention. The cowboy animation soundtracks were all brilliantly executed. Everyone is really being professional in their approach and showing a high level of skill and ability. Check them out HERE.The animation work with Jackie really moved on today. We can not wait to see the results. On Friday each pair will have their own 'Change' animation they have made and they will be composing their own music and sounds to accompany it. At the end of the day all will be revealed as we watch every pairs finished work. Can't wait!Today in the afternoon we recorded ourselves playing a variety of instruments along to the film we shot yesterday. We settled for our 3rd take and here it isTomorrow we plan to each play an instrument along to ourselves only and create a multi-track recording and see how that sounds with the film.

The soundtracks created today were very creative. In pairs people worked together to design the music and sound effects for a short animation based on the story of the Christmas Carol. Check these out HERE. We were using Soundtrack Pro to compose the music and add the sound effects and evryone managed to do this very well. We also did some filming outside against a large white wall. We animated ourselves, jumping in groups, clapping as we were walking in circles, running in circles, mexican waves and random 'Dada' type behaviour. Jackie filmed all this and edited it into a short silent film we will put music to it LIVE. Giles taught us some Samba Rhythms, getting us warmed up for tomorrows live performance playing to the film. Andy has a cowboy animation we will be putting music and sound effects on as well Everyone enjoyed the day, everyone is being very creative and supportive of each other, congratulations.
